Why am I fundraising?

Let us all display our solidarity to help Shama Hussain, a housewife. Shama Hussain, (50 Yrs) is fighting against Cancer since October' 2010, when she was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer. From 2010 till date she has fought courageously with this deadly disease to be alive for her kids and for her husband, Javed Hussain. Their son Aquib, 23yrs has just completed his B.Tech (Mechanical) this year, looking for job to start his career and daughter Arisha, 20 yrs is doing BA (Hons.) in Psychology (2nd Year). Shama has endured plenty of pain (Chemotherapy , Surgery, Radiotherapy) to be alive. Javed Hussain loves his wife like any one of us and spent every bit of his savings and earnings for her expensive treatment all these 5 years.

Everything was going along anyhow till recently, she fought back & had responded very well to her treatment and was recovering. But in December' 2014, it relapsed and metastasized on her Hip Bones. It is a very critical situation and needs a proper and expensive medical treatment. She has been prescribed to take "Everolimus 10 mg" Tab, one per day (30 Tabs in a month) (Cost - Rs. 24,000/-). Besides this she is also prescribed to take "Xgeva 120 mg" injection once in a month (Cost - Rs. 24000/-). Total treatment cost is about Rs. 50,000/- per month taking into consideration some Tests prescribed on and off. This treatment at the moment is prescribed for a minimum period of 24 months. This treatment could not be started immediately from the diagnosis time because of acute financial problems and could be started only from June' 2015. 5 months have already elapsed, about 19 months are remaining. Approx. a sum of about Rs. 10 Lacsis required for her further treatment. It is very critical that this treatment continues till the time it is being prescribed, otherwise any sort of stoppage / hindrance would undo the medicines effects and could prove fatal for her.

Javed is going through great financial crunch and needs assistance. In order to meet this expense and to save a life of this fighter, we need your contribution and most importantly your best wishes / constant prayers.

What do I plan to do with the funds?

All of the fund shall be utilized for her specialized treatment for the next remaining 19 months or so.
