On the 12th of July 2017, 24 year old Karthik Shil came into Apollo Hospital in Chennai with complaints and after a CT scan was conducted he was diagnosed with Vestibular Schwannoma which is a brain tumor.

He has so far undergone 2 surgeries which amounted to INR 10 lakhs.  He now needs to undergo further surgeries to fully recover and get back to normal.

24-year-old Karthik has been more like a parent to his parents. Ever since his father met with an accident a few years ago, he dropped out of school to support the family. Now, he is struggling to fight a brain tumor. His parents want to do all they can to save his life, and give him a happy future.

When Karthik was first brought to Chennai, the doctors explained the urgency and rushed him into surgery. So far, after borrowing from friends, after selling whatever they had left, even their daughter’s jewellery, this family has spent Rs. 10 lakhs on medical expenses.
