Rosary Trust is running a destitute home for 60 aged and disabled persons. They need food, clothes, medicines and shelter. As an example below is the details of Rajesh with multiple disabilities.
Backgroung of the person:
Name & age: Rajesh, born on 11.11.1989.
Address: 5/59, West Street, Kovindhapuram, Naraikinar post, Tuticorin dt, Tamil Nadu -628303.
He is from a dalit coolie family. He is a born handicapped person. He is 80% mentally retarded, totally deaf and dumb, left hand 70% paralyzed and partially blind. He walks limping. His father Chellathurai and his mother Chittammal are poor and coolie workers. They live in a tiled house and have no land. His 2 sisters Sathya and Saranya are doing college education. They could not look after him as each member of the family is busy in some work or other for their living. They brought him to Rosary Trust for help. Rosary Trust took him into its home for destitute. The home shelters him and gives him food, clothes, medicines, recreations etc.
Condition of the person:He often gets fever and joint pains, because of that he would make some type of noise and he would not get up from the bed. Sometimes he takes anything in hand and throws randomly. Due to this the neighbors are afraid to be near him. Whenever his family members come to see him, he does not show any sign of recognizing them. Sometimes he walks around without clothes. Every now and then, he goes to bath room and spends water lavishly washing his hands and legs.
The Progress:
As the donations come through, the beneficiary stays in a safer shelter. The person gets regular food and is healthy. The person gets good clothes and medicines at the time of sickness. The person is very happy and cheerful. The person is healed of the sicknesses like fever, cold, asthma, joint pains, which are common to destitute persons. The person is delivered from loneliness. Rosary Trust keeps the home very clean and neat. It counsels every inmate and finds out about their problems and accordingly solves those problems. It does regular medical check up and keeps a record of it like their diseases, pressure etc. It gives the inmates varieties of food like rice, sambar, rasam, vegetable fries, briyanis, curd rice, lemon rice, tamarind rice, tomato rice, chicken, eggs, fish etc. The beneficiary says that the Rosary Home for destitute is very different and special from other homes in the area. Rosary Trust admits any orphan and destitute person who has nobody to recommend for into its home. The people of the area are very much appreciative of this home and its activities
