I, Bhadravathi Ramachari, since 1992 have written more than 150 stories and more than 450 articles in prime kannada news papers. I have written and published many story collections and novel books. I have written and published many story collections and novel books. i have been awarded from different associating /organizations, state level, national level awards. Recently Indian Virtual univercity for Peace and education has been given me Honory Doctrate.
Presently, I am publishing a children novel by name 'Asha Kirana'. for this book his holiness padmabushan DR.veerendra Hegde has written preamble. i am willing to distribute this book free of cost to all brilliant students of all governement school in karnataka.
This children novel book having the theme that the children from urban city going to rural village with social commitment and duty consciousness engage themselves in littering literacy lamp is containing 80 pages and require a sum of Rs.2,50,000/- for printing five thousand copies.
Story Summary of child Novel 'Asha Kirana'
Two children by name Asha, kirana who were brother and sister came to grandmother's house at village to spend summer vacation. Asha and Kirana are studing in 6th and 7th standard respectively are very intelligent and they always stand first in studing.
the grandmother's house in village is surrounded by mountain, hill and agricultural field. in family. though the total strength of school and in that school major students are from poor family.though the total strength of school is around 150 children, the daily attendence of students will not cross 60 numbers.
when Asha and Kirana went to observe the village atmosphere they found many boys feeding the cattel and some were spending time by swimming in the water channel.
the village boys were amazed by seeing asha and kirana who came from city, asked them as to which place they belongs to and reason for coming there likewise they introduced themselves. then asha and kirana introduced themselvs to boys and enquried about the boys. then all the boys started telling about their father was not allowing, in some cases though parents are pressurizing children to go to school to become educated they were nor ready. by hearing their problems Asha and Kirana felt very bad were pity on them.
both brother and sister started teaching all the boys near the agriculture field. after few days, when they started teaching in front of their grandmother's house, the elders of the village also joined letter learning.
the news of teaching by Asha, Kirana to hundred of students spread to village people. the president of grama panchayat sent this news to local news papers. he also writes a letter to governement.
while hundreds of children and elders became literate, the children who left school promised that they will join the school from june and become educated.
after summer vaction asha and kirana return to their home and starated going to school as usual. during the course of days the principle of the school narrated the performance of Asha, Kirana and informed that they got awatrd. all the studens of school embrace them in proud.
the principle hope that if all the students think like Asha kirana there are no two words in our state becoming role model in literacy.
