    This fundraiser will benefit

Covid 19 Delhi 2021 affected people

    from New Delhi, Delhi

Over the last 2 months, the world has been gripped by scenes of an apocalyptic Covid surge in India: endless funeral pyres and patients gasping for oxygen. Unfortunately, the crisis has not relented. India continues to report the most daily deaths seen through the pandemic (an average of 4000 deaths a day), with bodies washing ashore every day in the Ganga river.

Punjab, which usually evokes images of its perennial gushing rivers and fragrant lush fields, has unfortunately come to represent the worst of the pandemic in India. Official statistics, which are almost certainly a vast undercount, show 200 daily deaths in Punjab along with the country’s highest fatality rate. Our experience on the ground working with healthcare providers has shown us that the true toll, both in terms of lives and livelihoods lost, is unimaginable.

As the threat of an eventual collapse looms over us, we are reaching out for your support to help Punjab in these devastating times. We are launching a fundraiser which will help us operate a Level - II Covid Facilitation Center at the Civil Hospital in Dasuya (Hoshiarpur) and provide other emergency support all across Punjab, including, but not limited to, delivering oxygen support and food. But we cannot do this alone! Our teams are putting their lives on the line on the ground, and we need your support. For as little as 1500 INR ($20), you could help support a Covid patient for an entire day; for $70, you can provide crucial oxygen support for up to 5 hours.

We are in an uphill climb against a surging virus, and every dollar will go towards someone who would otherwise suffer from a lack of care.
