About Pinewood School
Pinewood School is a self-funded Christian school established in 1980 for underprivileged children. The monthly tuition fees is only INR 500 ($7) so that low-income families can send their children to a good caring school. It currently has 150 students. Most of its staff are volunteer retired teachers imparting selfless service. The school desperately wants to update its curriculum by integrating more technology.
Computers for 150 students
It currently has only 3 ancient computers to be shared among its pupils. Each student (most of whom cannot afford a computer of their own) gets only 10 minutes per week of practice time. Only reading about computers isn't fun. The school desperately needs ICT labs with enough computers.
Our Ultimate Goal
By 2020, we would like to be able to offer new technology to our children like tablets. We also pray that we can enable our teachers with modern teaching aid like projectors or at least a decent sized monitor and a fully networked classroom.
Our Immediate Project
We would like to build 2 labs with at least 10 computers each so that different classes can access it at different times. Will you help us? The entire collection will go towards this project.
