Old age, according to some is a curse. It brings along various emotional and mental pains when hit by poverty or even worse, if struck by own family members. It is said that older women are more likely to be victims of family violence than older men, in part because they usually live longer.

To support these neglected women, The Pink Foundation is doing a campaign for Manguben and other such elders who are rejected and tortured by their blood relations.

Currently, Manguben is residing in Ahmedabad slums and constantly praying for her last breath to arrive. She is in most urgent need for a loving environment. Her son has been treating her mother like a slave which has resulted in the deterioration of Manguben’s health. The Pink Foundation is collecting funds for elders like Manguben so that they can be shifted to a local old age home and their monthly expenses can be sponsored with ease.
