16 year old Lijo is diagnosed with Hyper Oxaluria. Hyper oxaluria is an excessive urinary excretion of oxalate. He needs to undergo an urgent life saving Liver transplantation and then later a Kidney transplantation. His mother has volunteered to donate part of her liver to save her son’s life.

Muthuswamy and his wife Malliga are daily wagers. They earn only upto 600 per day. Their first daughter Lisa is aged 21 and is married. Lijo is their second child. Lijo has been suffering from his childhood. He has been continuously taking medicines. On 24th Sept 2016, his face, legs and hands were swollen. They found out that his kidneys were affected. He is undergoing Dialysis. After a few days they found out that his liver was also affected. They checked it at Stanley hospital and continued his dialysis and medications. Again he was undergoing treatment in tirunelveli and then in Neyyur. They’ve spent more than 15 lakhs completely selling their assets. The family is from an underprivileged background and cannot afford the cost of transplantation.

Doctors have examined Lijo and advised Liver & Kidney transplantation. This is to be done in Apollo Hospitals, Greams road, Chennai. The surgery costs almost 36 lakhs. With very less income the family is not able to go further with the Liver transplant unless they get the required help. Transplant has to be done at the earliest.
