The Healers’ Collective

You’re a life-saver!

Let’s revitalize our responsibility towards humanity as we isolate ourselves. Along with an increasing need for stocking on necessities, we also face the challenge of stocking on blood. Patients in hospitals are awaiting blood donations to receive the healthcare they need.

At KHOON, we are committed to fighting this shortage of blood and being the medium between you and the patients. Over the period of Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 alone, we saved 30,000 lives across India and 10,000 lives in Bengaluru alone.

Over the past 4 years, we’ve impacted 1,00,000 lives across the country.

We also helped national and international patients at HCG Cancer Hospital round the clock during emergencies. Today, blood banks like Rashtrotthana have been able to increase their Voluntary Blood Donation through Digital Tools via KHOON.

Due to the lockdown, blood banks are unable to set up blood donation camps, which was the primary source (95%) of getting the blood required. India faces the burden of nearly 1,00,000 patients of B thalassemia and it ranks the 3rd highest country with patients of blood cancer. Patients are suffering as we desert the streets, and risk losing their lives through no fault of theirs.

We are here to ensure that it does not happen under our watch. However, we cannot do it without your support. We request you to come forward and donate blood or funds. All of your contributions will be used to:
  1. assist blood banks;
  2. spread our message through the word of mouth and reaching out to people across the country;
  3. transport people to and fro blood banks; and
  4. help numerous patients who need blood transfusions across the country, not just during the COVID-19 pandemic but throughout the year.
Emergency helpline: 1800 890 6465

Khoon was also recently felicitated by the Karnataka State Health & Family Welfare Department for exemplary work in the field of Blood Donation.

How we count each rupee towards our goal:

Rs. 6,00,000 for donations in the time of COVID-19:

As the world faces a crisis, blood donation organisations around the world are struggling to rally donors. While COVID-19 patients do not require blood, there are lakhs of patients (
blood cancerB thalassemia, and pregnant women, among others) whose lives are endangered with the scarcity of blood. To tackle this problem in India, we require your aid for:

1. Providing blood to patients at no cost
2. Transporting willing donors at our expense
3. Providing medical aid to patients
4. Promoting our cause in this difficult time

Rs. 1,50,000 to answer every call each time:

To channelize all donation requests at a single place, we have started a toll-free number, for which we are deeply indebted to Reliance Jio. To ensure that every blood donation request, donor registration, or emergency request is duly attended, we need your help to keep the number functioning round the clock.

Rs. 3,00,000 for Khoon’s Admin & Operational expenses:

Support us to keep our operations afloat.

Rs. 4,50,000 for designing the future of blood donation:

Today, the Internet is not only connecting people seas apart, but also two blocks apart. Envisioning the possibilities blood donation can achieve with this technology, Khoon will use an interface as fundamental as a browser, a network of laboratories, a user base of donors, and give you a revolution in blood donation. A hassle-free registration will connect a sea of donors and recipients with nothing but a browser notification in the time of need. More walk-ins than camps, ensured with the ease of connectivity. You will have an active user base without needing any application - a first of its kind in the world. Not only this, with a secure database, Khoon will value protecting user privacy as much as saving lives. With this, Khoon will bring you a transparent, efficient, automated, progressive, and game changing method.

Thank you for multiplying goodness with us!

It has been nearly 6 months since we started The Healers’ Collective and we are closer to reaching one third of our goal amount, all thanks to your kindness and generosity. In this time, we have together been able to save 20,000 lives by facilitating walk-in donations as well as by organising 12 blood donation camps.

While these numbers are uplifting considering the current circumstances, we still have a long way to go until we can fulfill the demand of the patients who need us. At Khoon, we are committed to not only meet these blood requirements but also promise a dignified life to patients with chronic diseases. To achieve this, we have kickstarted a project for thalassemia patients, wherein we listen and solve the issues faced by thalassemia patients in their everyday life.

Your support is making it possible for us to take these steps towards a holistic healing of the many patients whose lives depend on blood donation. The more you support, the more lives get a second chance.

We are also actively encouraging discourse across popular channels, with support from actors, entrepreneurs and influencers, including Satyabharat Mohapatra, Nikhil Thampi and Chhavi Hussein. Our founder, Chethan Manchegowda, was also invited as a speaker by India Today and by TV News 18. We have also been featured across media houses such as The Logical Indian and Edex, among others.

As time goes on, we only envision our collective impact multiplying further. If you have donated, tell your friends our story. It can translate into several months of life for someone. You can also multiply your kindness by pledging your birthday with Khoon by simply asking for donations in the name of Khoon instead of gifts. We’d be happy to talk to you and take care of everything you need to do. Reach out to us at contact@khoonkhas.org or DM us on our social media handles: @KhoonKhas

If you haven’t donated, please help us help India. Every rupee counts.

"Your help can not only save a life but also a family from a loss which is beyond expressing. Things are already difficult for cancer patients due to the pandemic. I request everyone to please continue ensuring that blood is donated."- Elisa Gupta, daughter of a blood cancer patient.

While most of us thought that the effects of the pandemic would subside in the summer, we're still seeing its rise. Patients of thalassemia, blood cancer, hemophilia, people who require surgeries, and pregnant women, among other patients, are dependent on blood donation to save their lives. The demand hardly lessens.

But we are as committed to overcoming this scarcity as we were before. With your help, we have helped save more than 11,200 lives in the past 3 months. Our national toll-free helpline is also helping 60 callers per day. We resolve to overcome this problem, one blood donation at a time if you are with us.

If you're new to our fundraiser, we want to welcome you to our family of well-wishers. You can support us by donating funds and sharing our fundraiser in your circle. If you have already helped us by donating, please consider donating again or help spread the word about The Healers' Collective!
