Deafblindness is a very unique and complex disability, where a child is not able to see and hear at the same time and as a result cannot speak as well. There is an estimated population of 5,00,000 persons with deafblindness in India, who are forced to live in isolation.
Sense India is the only National level NGO in India working with deafblind children and providing them healthcare and specialised education services as otherwise the deafblind children will be completely left out of education.
Sense India is working across 22 states of India and till date has reached out to 78,000+ children and adults with deafblinndess and multiple disabilities. Through Sense India's initiatives, 63,500+ deafblind children are receiving education through government's Samagara Shiksha Abhiyan Programme.
3rd December, is celebrated across the world as "International Day of Persons with Disabilities" and this world disability day, do support Sense India to help deafblind children receive education. We aim to raise INR 5 Lakh this month, to support 5 deafblind children for their education for 1 year.
