Hudhud, which struck India’s eastern coast on October 12, left tens of thousands homeless and badly battered infrastructure in nearly a dozen districts, including in the port city of Visakhapatnam. The cyclone claimed eight lives and forced over seven lakh people to take shelter in camps. The Indian Navy has suffered a loss of Rs.2,000 crore due to the severe cyclonic storm Hudhud, which wreaked havoc on the Andhra coast. You can win many battles but it's not easy when you are up against nature's fury. Cyclone Hudhud battered the strategic naval base at Visakhapatnam, damaging its airfield and other installations. As the eye of the cyclone passed over Vizag, about 30-40 per cent of the trees inside the naval station got uprooted. While we all run at the 1st Navy Vizag Half marathon, your contribution will go a long way towards supporting the Naval officers in helping them for the flood relief and operation. Every little support matters - let's all run together and join us in making an impact together! Please contribute as little as Rs. 500 - we need to get this city back on its feet.
