I had a severe dysentery problem during my 30th week of pregnancy. Which is a very dangerous thing to have in pregnancy. I couldn't eat or drink anything fir almost 2 weeks and was hospitalized for 9 days. The expense was almost a little over Rs.1 lac.
Due to this i got a side effect of blood pressure shooting up to a dangerous number and baby started loosing weight and stopped getting her nutrition from the placenta.
I was hospitalized after a week of continuous blood tests and sonography to a rare disease that's called pre-eclampsia and was hospitalized for the same to be under continuous monitoring.
After 10 days of hospitalization, they had to decide on operating the baby out before i complete my term to save either me or the baby. Baby born is premature and just 850 gm at birth. She's born because of pre-eclampsia because she couldn't get nutrition from my placenta and the there was a back-flow of blood and nutrients and baby de-grew in the womb so even at 30 weeks and 4 days her growth was that of 26 weeks and hence, both of us were in danger and had to be immediately operated upon.
By Gods grace both of us survived but both in delicate conditions.
I still continued to have dysentery and with delicate bowels was given discharge with a list of medicines and medical challenges. The bill here was Rs.3 lacs (covered under insurance for only Rs.50 k as termed as maternity) and a misc expense of various tests and medicines during the duration of more than Rs.1 lac!
The baby still continues to be hospitalised and in NEONATAL ICU for another 8 to 10 weeks till she is ready to come out. If she sustains these days without any complications she'll live through. She has completed 2 weeks with the God's grace.
Till now her NICU hospitalization at Surya hospital bill is Rs.2.5 lacs and it'll be growing at the same pace. The estimated value of her complete hospitalization as per the hospital is another Rs.10 lacs which can vary depending on actuals.
Currently i am not on job and have no income and hence only 1 earning member of the family is my husband. As a mid income salaried family, we've been able to pull through Rs.7 to 7.5 lacs till now but the future looks bleak and hence are looking for medical financial help from any person or charitable organisations ready to help us in this situation of need. Thank you.
