My Story
I’m a throat cancer survivor. I had my larynx removed nearly 12 years ago by Dr Mohan Kameswaran. I have a 20-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son. My wife passed away 2 years ago after suffering from acute Pulmonary Hypertension. I spent nearly Rs.40 lakh on her treatment hoping fervently that she would survive. But that was not to be. I was totally devoted to my wife and her demise was an irreparable loss to me. I was shattered and was totally depressed and down and out. I had spent my entire savings on my wife’s treatment.
Being a throat cancer survivor, I was able to speak only through an artificial prosthesis attached to my throat. This made it difficult for people to comprehend what I was trying to convey.
This in turn, affected my job prospects. I have been unemployed since my throat cancer surgery.
Why are funds required?
The funds raised through this campaign will be utilized to complete my daughter Aishwraya’s education.This fundraiser is for my daughter Aishwarya who is doing her 5 year integrated BBA + MBA course at the Gems B School in Bangalore. She is into her 3RD year and last semester of BBA at the college.
I had already paid the first 3 semesters fees but am now unable to pay her final 3 semester fees. She also has to pay her PG accommodation charges which works out to about Rs 5000/- per month.
As you might be aware, the college has given her ample time to pay her fees taking into account her mother’s loss and her father’s financial predicament.
After giving her a lot of time, the college is now demanding that Aishwarya pay her fees asap.
If she does not do so, she would be barred from college and will not be able to finish her basic education.
I need the funds immediately so that she is able to finish her basic education. As I do not have funds, my 13-year-old son has also dropped out of school.
The funds will be used to pay the college semester fees for 3 semesters. The rest of the money would be used for taking care of her PG accommodation.
I hereby request all to contribute to helping my daughter finish her education. I am also open to the idea of providing any kind of proof in support of this fundraising request.
