Help Tulasi’s Premature Baby Girl

Lakshmi Narayana works as a security guard at an ATM during nights and helps his brother sell savouries during the day. He is encouraging his wife to pursue education and she goes to college.

In the early hours of 1st of November 2017, during the 7th month of her first pregnancy Tulasi’s waters broke unexpectedly and she was rushed to emergency at C C Shroff Memorial Hospital, Kachiguda and they told her they had to induce labour as her water bag broke and it will undoubtedly cause distress to the child. Her girl baby was born a short while later at 1.2kg and two months early and was sent by ambulance to NICU at HOPE hospital, Adarsh Nagar. The little one is battling for life valiantly. She will have a chance of survival if kept in the NICU for the next 28days.

Please contribute generously to her cause and help a girl child survive.

Dear Supporters,

We have some good news to share with you today. The little one has gained a bit of weight since my last update. She is now around 1.3kilograms which is a good sign. She might be ready to go home sometime in the coming week but it will be yet sometime before she is fully fit.

The pediatric ophthalmologist has been by to check her eyes and she was of an opinion that there could be a retinopathy of prematurity since she could see tiny clots in the whites of her eyes. She might need a laser treatment to remove the clots so as to ensure her vision is not affected. I have conferred with an ophthalmic surgeon friend of mine and it sometimes happens in premature babies.

Thank you for all the support. Please do pray for her speedy recovery.

Dear Supporters,

This is an update regarding the little one.

As of today the CPAP and subsequent respiratory support has been removed and she has been having only an Oxygen Mask to help her breathe. Her weight is now 1.1kgs and that is a definite improvement since it has started increasing.

She has opened her eyes and is trying to look at her parents. Her mother is now able to hold the little one and give her direct touch.

Thank you for your love and support.
