MURALIDHAR and his wife(Vijay Kumari)  hail from a small town called Tiptur.  They went through a lot of struggle fighting infertility over a number of years. Lay year Finally, they had a lovely surprise of the news that Vijay Kumari was pregnant with twin babies growing in her womb. Both parents were extremely elated and did everything possible to have a normal pregnancy.

Unfortunately, exactly a day before Vijay Kumari was to have cesarian section,  she developed a serious liver disease and needed emergency admission to ICU.  Hence, father rushed mother to Bangalore to save lives of mother and both babies.
On presentation to our emergency department, mother was critical and had to be put on artificial breathing support and underwent emergency dialysis before delivering babies. Immediately following this, she was taken up for cesarean section as babies inside her womb were found to be in serious distress.

Both babies (girl and a boy)  were delivered by emergency section in operating room. Unfortunately they both were born in poor condition and needed extensive resuscitation  and stabilisation.
They both were put on mechanical ventilator and blood pressure medications. They were very critical in first 24 hours of their little life. However,  they both seem to making a recovery and need ongoing NICU care.  However,  these little babies have a long way to go as they need to improve further before they can be discharged home.

Expected length of stay in NICU is likely to around 7-10 for both babies. Estimated total cost likely to be around 4-5 lakhs for both babies.
