    Vedprakash Nath Tiwari

    from Bengaluru, Karnataka

My name is Anshu. My life with my husband, Vedprakash, had just begun. After our beautiful wedding in Odisha, we moved to Bangalore to start our new life. He had studied and worked here, and it was where we planned to build our future. We were filled with dreams and hopes, looking forward to a happy and prosperous life. Every moment with him was precious. We had only been married a year when everything changed.

I was so overjoyed to be with him, my husband, the man I had chosen to spend my life with. And then we found out he's dying.

It all started so suddenly

He began feeling unwell, but he never complained. He continued working hard, never missing a day despite the pain in his leg. I was at my mother's house when he told me he wasn't feeling well. He mentioned feeling more tired than usual and having some pain, but he assured me it was nothing serious. I insisted he come home for Holi, thinking he was making excuses to avoid the trip. When he finally arrived, I was shocked by his condition. His leg was swollen, and his body and eyes had turned yellow. He looked so weak and frail, it broke my heart. It was only then that I realized how serious his condition was.

We rushed him to a hospital immediately, but it was a nightmare

It was five in the morning, but we rushed to a hospital nearby. The doctors could not figure out what was wrong with him, though. They conducted endless tests, and even took a piece of his liver but provided no answers. His condition worsened; his whole body became swollen, he had multiple episodes of nose bleeding, and rashes appeared on his lower limbs. Desperate, we moved him to Bangalore, hoping for better treatment. But by then, his liver was failing, and we were running out of time.

Doctors say he won't survive without the transplant

In Bangalore, we faced another struggle. We needed a slide of his liver biopsy report from Bhubaneswar, but it took countless requests and a lot of money to get it. When we finally got it and consulted with specialists, the diagnosis was devastating. My husband needs a liver transplant urgently. We had already exhausted all our savings on his treatment so far. We sold our house and land, but it still wasn't enough. He's been on a ventilator for 25 days now, and the doctors say he won't survive without the transplant.

He is everything to our family, the pillar that holds us all together

His younger brothers depend on him, and he has always taken care of everyone. He is the eldest son and the main breadwinner, managing all the responsibilities and ensuring our family’s well-being with his private job. Even in his illness, he remains concerned about the family's welfare. Now, as I watch him fight for his life, I feel utterly helpless. Our dreams of a happy future are slipping away.

Please, we need your help, your generosity is our last hope. Please help me save my husband!
