Cancer left him bedridden in just 15 days
13-year-old Varun was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a type of serious blood cancer that progresses rapidly. The parents brought the child to Delhi immediately as his condition got serious with each passing day. Varun is vulnerable to infections and suffers from excessive tiredness due to the deadly disease.“It has just been 15 days since Varun has been diagnosed with the disease but it has left him bedridden already. Varun needs several rounds of chemotherapy to stop the cancer cells from growing followed by a bone marrow transplant to completely recover. The entire treatment will cost these parents in lakhs, which they can’t afford.“My husband and I both work as teachers in a private school. Our combined income was enough to live comfortably, but the last few months have been very tough for us. With no proper salaries, we just struggled our way through the expenses. What will we do now? How will we afford Varun’s treatment? We have already sold our gold and borrowed money from everyone we could. My husband is trying his best to arrange more but we don't have enough time!" - Rajini
