    Tarun

    from Bangalore, Karnataka

“Life is just not fair. I work hard day in and out so that my kids have a good future. My son is hardly 10 years old and he is at the end stage of kidney disease. My daughter, on the other hand, is physically disabled since birth and needs help to move around and to even have food as her right hand and leg is partially paralysed. I spend every day worrying about them, the helplessness kills me,” -Chandrashekar, father

Tharun who studies in the 6th grade loves to read and write. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to attend school from the past 6 months. He has been hospitalized often due to a severe kidney infection. Little Tharun’s body and face swell up regularly as he is not able to pass urine. He is not able to understand his medical condition. He thinks he is just not well and would get better soon.

"I love to sing and play cricket. My sister also sings along with me. I want to go back to school and play with my friends. I don't like it here in the hospital. My mother is always crying looking at me. I tell my father that we should go back home." - Tharun

“Every mother would like to see their kids run and play. For me, I would be happy if my kids could just lead a life that is not so painful.  My son has dialysis tubes inserted inside his body. Right now, they have inserted them in his right arm. Each time they insert at different places in his body, it lasts about 4-5 months and then they start leaking blood. It kills me to see him cry with pain each time.” – Radha, mother

Tharun has been on treatment and dialysis for the past 4 years. His left kidney is not functioning and now his right kidney is also failing. He needs kidney transplantation at the earliest. The medical team is on the lookout for a matching donor. The cost for the transplant and medicine would go up to 11 lakh rupees.

“I own a small tea stall in a small village near Udupi, Karnataka. I go to work at 5 in the morning and return home at 12 in the night. I take a break of 2 hours in the afternoon for lunch and rest. This is my routine and at the end of the day, I earn around  Rs 200. How can I even manage to raise lakhs of rupees? It’s impossible.” – Chandrashekar, Father

Tharun does not have much time left as his body is unable to function normally. Tharun’s family needs your help to save Tharun and help him lead a healthy life.
