Madhobi doesn’t know what she should do so that her little baby girl Tanushree stops crying. The 5-month-old is in a lot of pain and the doctors have said that the only way she can get better is with the help of an immediate heart surgery.
 

“Sometimes she cries all night long and it’s painful to watch her like this. But the helplessness - it just kills me inside,” - Madhobi, mother.

Any delay can be fatal for this baby

Little Tanushree is born with a heart disease - there is an opening in between the two major blood vessels emerging from her heart. She is often sick - it’s either fever or cough and cold. In fact, her growth is stunted - she is severely underweight.
 

“It was during one of our regular visits to the doctor that we got to know she has this heart problem. The doctor also told us that she doesn’t have much time. If the surgery doesn’t take place in time, we will lose her,” - Kamal, father.

I am only a daily wager - how will I afford so much?

Kamal comes from a remote village in West Bengal. Unable to find a job there, he was working as a daily wager in Bangalore. But for the last few months he is at home, helping Madhobi take care of their two children.
 

“The little bit we had saved over the years are now over. But we still need about 1.5 lakhs for her surgery. Who will help me? Now you’re our only hope - please save my daughter,” - Kamal.
