Help Sadashiv Suffering From Blood Cancer.

Sadashiv, Father of Three Kids, Will Succumb To Blood Cancer If Not Given Timely Treatment

Sadashiv said"I might be poor but I worked hard to give my family a life better than I had. I deserve to be around them, to see them grow into wonderful human beings. I feel that I deserve dignity in life and death, but Cancer is taking it all away from me."

Sadashiv worked as a Maintenance Supervisor in Mumbai and lives there with his family. Breaking his back to build his life brick by brick, 51-year-old Sadashiv never imagined how easily it would be snatched away from him. Married with Three kids, Sadashiv has been diagnosed with a severe form of blood cancer called Biphenotypic Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Acute biphenotypic leukaemia is an uncommon type of leukemia which arises in multipotent progenitor cells which have the ability differentiating into both myeloid and lymphoid lineages. It is a subtype of "leukemia of ambiguous lineage". The direct reason lead BAL is still not clear & currently spreads rapidly to other parts of the body if not treated immediately and urgently. He needs to undergo seven cycles of chemotherapy and so far he has only completed one.
Now 2 months filled with pain and suffering

His ordeal started a 3 month back, when he became too weak to even perform his daily tasks. He had fever, indigestion and unexplained weight loss. He ignored the symptoms for as long as he could. He went to a doctor who told him something he never expected. That he had cancer and that it was quite advanced. He needed chemotherapy urgently.
Sadashiv wants to continue the fight but he cannot afford it
Sadashiv cancer is growing rapidly and without timely chemotherapy, there is very little the doctors can do to improve his chances of survival. Although he has been on medication for some time now, he does not have funds remaining to continue and complete the treatment.

Sadashiv stay in Mumbai (100 sq ft Chawl house) with his Father, wife and three children
Due to cancer, Sadashiv had to leave his work and currently his daughter go to work in private firm. Because She is the sole earning member of his family, at present, they have only source of income. He was taking treatment at Holy Spirit Hospital, Andheri Mumbai and he has spent close to Rs 3.5 lakhs. The chemo is far from over, but he does not have another Rs 15 lakhs to complete treatment. He is struggling to collect the remaining amount that can save his life.

"I do not have the privilege to give up. I have three kids, the eldest daughter is now just completed graduation &  only income generated. My family completely dependent on me. I have to look after my wife & my father as well. With so many responsibilities on my shoulder, how can I give up and leave them all alone?" said Sadashiv.

*How Can You Help?*
Sadashiv and his family have exhausted all their funds with the treatment so far and do not have the money to afford the rest of his treatment. Without the timely treatment, Sadashiv will never recover. At present, the family has no source of income and are struggling to make ends meet.

He needs our help. Your contribution can help Sadashiv get the treatment which he deserves.

Dear Supporter,

Thank you for the support. My father Sadashiv Mayekar is still not feeling well. My father was admitted for Phase III induction Chemo in Holy Spirit Hospital as on 12th Nov 18 & after that, the doctor suggested that he undergo a Bone Marrow report test to suggest the future course of action.

Current Bone Marrow report impression (attached for your ready reference) mentioned below for your ready reference.
1) Hypercellular bone marrow bone marrow with 12% blasts. Not in morphological remission.
2) Independent immunophenotypic analysis revealed 11.7% residual B cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in a known case. More than 45,65,894 events could be analysed.

The doctors are looking for a donor as the bone marrow of my uncle & aunt did not match. Please pray for his health and speedy recovery. Do share this campaign further with your friends and family. We will keep you posted.

Thanks & Regards

Dear Supporters,

I am extremely grateful for all the love and support you have shown towards my father, Sadashiv.

His first cycle of chemotherapy has been completed. He had loose motion for a few days as one of the side effect, but recovered soon. He is presently going through the second cycle of chemotherapy. We take him to the hospital twice a week for his regular tests. If his blood platelet count and weight are stable, the doctor informed that chemotherapy treatment will continue.

I thank you all for standing by us during this tough time. I request you to share and support this campaign so that we can continue with the treatment without difficulty.

Regards,
Sonali (Daughter)
