Hello World, my name is Ripley , and this is my story!
I'm a female indie dog, 10 months old.
I was found tied to a construction site in Delhi in the harsh summer of 2018. I was bleeding all around my neck due to a rope cut, starving till my bones could show, parched, my paws burnt from the hot concrete on the ground, and I had cigarette burns on my hind legs. I had only seen cruelty in the world till then.
My rescuers gave me timely treatment, fed me well, and gave me a love I had never seen before. I learnt toilet training very quickly, received all my vaccinations, and played with my foster family in the afternoons.
Things seemed happy and fine, till I had to fight another battle. Unfortunately, soon after my rescue, I caught meningitis of the neck due to my earlier injuries. This left me completely paralysed, and with high fever. I couldn't move, eat, nor go for toilet. I would keep howling in pain through the day.
I went to several vets across Delhi, all of whom gave up on me, without understanding what I had. Some even wanted to put me down, but my rescuers never gave up on me. Finally, I was treated correctly by the patient team at Friendicoes. After 3 months of daily injections, I have fully recovered and can finally walk and run again!
My doctors and foster family say that I'm "special" - I will always have a slight limp. This hasn't stopped me from being naughty - I like to sneak up to humans and nuzzle them for attention. I'm very playful and enjoy chewing on my toys (I love basketballs!)
I also love car rides and I'm the perfect road trip companion. My face is glowing and my fur a beautiful golden brown now. I still have some trauma from my past abuse, and I need a patient family who can accommodate my special needs.
For the last 7 months, the wonderful team at Paws for a Cause: NCR Adoptions has been helping me find a forever home. My rescuers are unable to take care of me for much longer, and I've been unable to find a family in India till now.
I now have a family waiting for me in Vancouver, Canada, and I'm looking forward to lifetime of happiness. But I need all of your help and blessings in getting there. I need to raise a large amount of money to fly to my forever home in Canada.
The breakdown of the costs is as follows:
Micro chipping: Rs. 2,500/-
Ticket (for human volunteer, split into the number of dogs travelling with them): Rs. 35,000/-
Paperwork (export permit and health certificate) :Rs. 3,000/-
Excess baggage charge: Rs. 33,000/-
Crate: Rs. 6500/-
Crate training and boarding: Rs. 10,000/-
I hope you can help me reach my forever family. I have escaped abuse, cheated death, and recovered from paralysis. I just want to be a normal puppy again, and every donation, no matter how small, counts.
