22-year-old, Manish has been running Nageshwar-Bimala Foundation with the aim to uplift, feed, educate and rehabilitate the poorest of the poor who were struggling to make ends meet every single day.

I realized how desperate a person can become because of hunger at that time when I heard about a grandpa whose kids left him after he got paralyzed and couldn't work.When I met him, he was in a very bad state. He lived 4 kms from the market and had limp as he begged for food to survive. Dragging his feet to come to the market. After we started our kitchen, he told me, "Now I don't have to be hungry tomorrow because of you." - Manish
With Manish's project " One Rupee Thali " he's serving the poor with love and care. Giving one rupee might not help us financially, but for these people that one rupee is their dignity. People no more hesitate to come here and have a meal. His organization has fed, employed, and rescued 15,000+ people in 15+ villages. The "One Rupee Thali" mission provides daily nutritious meals to the needy.
Manish’s NGO Also Provides Better Employment Opportunities To Single Mothers, Widows, Daily Wagers, And Education To Orphans
Through his organization, Manish has provided employment to widows and the homeless have been assisted with opening shops and single women have been provided with sewing machines to start a new life.
"By paying only one rupee, labourers and daily wagers who earn very little every day, can eat good food. We also feed orphans who have no one to look after them. The first kitchen was inaugurated in March 2023 in Sonbarsa, located in the Saharsa District of Bihar. Following this, the second kitchen was established in July in Bakhtiyarpur, also within the Saharsa District. Plans are underway to launch the third kitchen at Saharsa Station in September,” says Manish.
Over The Course Of The Next year, Manish Wants To Build Another 20 Kitchens
Over the course of the next year, Manish envisions the establishment of 20 additional kitchens. The primary focus will be on expanding to various districts in Bihar, alongside setting up kitchens in four to five locations within Mumbai, particularly in Andheri East and West, where he currently resides.
Presently, Over 400 Individuals In Need Partake In These Meals Every Day
A single thali, comprising a nutritious and hearty meal of vegetables, roti and rice, is prepared at a cost of approximately INR 40. Presently, over 400 individuals in need partake in these meals every day, at each of the two kitchens.To achieve their goals, they need your generous support. “Every day the number of people coming to our kitchens is rising. But we don't have enough money. Our daily ration constitutes a cost of ₹3000. We are struggling to pay our staff salaries, and also want to have a permanent roof to replace our open kitchens as food gets spoiled when it rains,” says Manish, adding, “Our operations need over 100 auto rickshaws daily, facilitating the transportation and distribution of food to those in need in time."Rain spoils their entire day's efforts as their kitchen don't have a roof over their head.Due to lack of vehicles if they are not able to reach in time, many people return back home. For a old man who was paralyzed and yet dragged himself to get food that day going home again on an empty stomach as he couldn't reach in time with food, breaks Manish's heart.
