“If you see my baby boy, you won’t believe that a 3-month-old can go through so much pain! He can’t breathe on his own - his chest gets sucked and stomach bloats up like a balloon in every time he tries inhaling. The sight...it’s horrible. He is going through this every day of his life and I can’t do anything for him. I feel terribly hopeless, even a failure…” - Chandan, father.  

Chandan and Rohini’s first born has a hole in his heart. His condition is critical and he doesn’t have much time. He needs a surgery in the coming week.

More than 5 hospitals told them that their baby can’t be saved…

The worst thing that can happen to a parent is to hear that their child can’t be saved. And that’s exactly what Chandan and Rohini were told when they carried their baby boy to several hospitals, hoping to cure him.
 

“With a sick child in our laps, we have gone from one hospital to the other. And all of them told us that there was nothing they could do! Rohini kept crying, I had no words to console her. Now when we finally know that there is a treatment, we are unable to afford it,” - Chandan.  

Baby Nandan hasn’t been sleeping for nights together

Nandan’s heart is not functioning - his body doesn’t get enough of the oxygen-carrying blood. The only way he can get better is with a surgery in a week’s time. But his daily wager father is in no position to afford the surgery.

 

“He stays awake for nights after nights. Rohini and I stay awake with him - singing lullabies, trying to calm him down. But nothing helps. He screams out in pain, his little chest lifting up and down…” - Chandan.  

Chandan has spent all his savings but is nowhere near the amount that he needs for Nandan’s surgery. He is begging his employers, his relatives - but there is only so much they can do. He needs your help, it’s the only way he can save his son’s life.
