I can’t sleep,I fear that I’ll lose my child

“We live in a very remote village. There are no hospitals at all, we have to go to the city for even a small injury or even common cold. I fear that something might happen to him and I wouldn’t even be able to keep him alive till we reach the hospital. But what can I  do, it is way too costly for us to stay in the city,” - Veeresham,father

The family had no idea about Karthik’s severe heart disease until his school conducted a medical camp. Karthik was diagnosed with two holes in his heart which he apparently had since birth but were never diagnosed.

“I got a call from the hospital,they said they need to talk to me about Karthik.  I was devastated when I got to know that he will not survive long if he does not get an urgent surgery. But I have nothing, how will I save my child.” – Vasantha

Karthik needs an urgent surgery for VSD closure without which, he won't be able to survive.

What we earn is what we eat for the day

"I am a daily wager, I take up whatever work I get for the day. I hardly earn Rs 200 which is also spent on the food. I sometimes don’t even have enough to afford  proper meals for my family. I have absolutely no savings at all and I…I am watching my son suffer and I am unable to save him.” – Veeresham

The surgery will cost them around Rs 3.5 lakhs. They are desperate to save their son but are helpless.
