Kamala is single mother living in Sevilimedu village, near Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. She has 2 daughters Sadana (15 years) and Sabitha (13 years). Her husband has abandoned her family. She makes her living as a fruit seller and doing other odd jobs to support her family and her daughters. Her elder daughter is afflicted by polio and her younger daughter is mentally challenged with epilepsy.

Over the years, the house where she lives has been damaged and she needs to rebuild it, including new walls as well as portion of roof. For this, she needs about Rs 60,000.
