Kajol from JNV - Tarikhet, Uttarakhand, the daughter of Hema Devi, is working hard to arrange the funds for her mother's treatment. It is tough to see her moist eyes. At such a tender age, it is very tough for her to get this feat done all by herself. The crisis has also stopped the aspirations of higher studies for this bright girl.
She needs our help to get her mother cured and get the smile of the family back. Please help Kajol to arrange fund for her beloved mother and get the surgery done at earliest. It will help the family to get back on track and Kajol to arrange and focus on higher studies. After the struggle of around one year, she has approached AIIMS for getting her mother treated. As of now, as per verbal communication, the estimate at AIIMS stands to be around two lacs.
The harsh conditions on the remote hills of Uttarakhand have turned Hema Devi into an iron lady. She never ceased to smile despite severe lack of resources and tough conditions. The positivity and hard work of the family were taking them in the right direction.
Their daughter Kajol had been a very good student since childhood. She cracked the Jawahar Navodaya Vidhyalaya exam in 5th standard with all hard work and was admitted in JNV Almora. Kajol has just come out of the school and was working towards attaining higher education.
It is a major setback for the family. The doctors at National Heart Institute have provided an estimation of around 3 lac for the surgical treatment. The treatment involves Coronary Angiography followed by Mitral Valve Replacement.
Coming from an economically challenging background, the family had already spent their means on the diagnosis and medication till now. They are unable to arrange the fund of 3 Lacs needed for the surgery.
Since then, the condition is worsening further due to lack of funds. For around past one year, they have been trying their best to arrange the funds and get Hema Devi treated. With the limited means and limited reach of the family, it turned out to be a non-attainable task.

Hema Devi used to feel short of breath and had complaints of chest pain for a long time. Initially, the family thought of it as nominal issues with the digestive system. She was admitted to Base Hospital in Almora when conditions turned severe in March 2017. She was referred to Sushila Tiwari Medical College Haldwani and later admitted to Krishna Hospital in Haldwani. Based on the symptoms doctors recommended some tests. She was diagnosed with a blocked heart valve. She was kept in ICU for around 10 days and doctors have recommended for surgery as early as possible.It is a major setback for the family.
