NIRMAAN Organization is a registered NGO incepted by students of BITS Pilani in 2005 with the aim to serve the underprivileged, whose voices are heard loud and clear but are often ignored. It focuses on all-round development of the rural Indian society through our teaching, scholarship and career counseling programmes. Its Pilani chapter, operated under students of BITS Pilani, consists of 10 projects, each attempting to fulfill the dynamic needs of different sectors of societal development, yet united by one common theme- creation of a better tomorrow for our beneficiaries.
The projects involved in teaching comprise of the Gyanbodh projects and Shiksha Ki Ore, who help in the admission of children into schools via RTE and provide regular evening tuitions so that they can continually keep up with their school’s syllabus. We also provide them with textbooks, extra storybooks, essential stationeries, etc.

 
Other projects, such as Utkarsh provide for merit-cum-need scholarships, Disha for career counseling of students in 10th standard as well as those in higher secondary,

 

Participatory Community Development providing solutions for community development, 
and Unnati for woman empowerment by aggregating groups of women to form autonomous sewing centers to make their community financially self-dependent.

 

Lately, our activities have reaped the desired results among our target communities, which are inducing more ambition in the rural populace about a more fulfilled future. This has caused an increase in their participation, which has prompted more utilization of resources on our part, more noticeably, financial. Over the last two semesters, this has been true for all the projects of NIRMAAN. Moreover, we recently took up the mantle of sanitary issues, installing water purifiers and conducting medical camps. This exponential growth in our activities, courtesy of the ever-dynamic social scenario caused a surge in our expenditure to the point where it has become quite difficult to sustain NIRMAAN in its full functionality, let alone plan for future contingencies or opportunities for further expansion.Under these circumstances, we have no choice but to ask for your help. Let’s be clear, we are not asking for hefty donations. However, if the prospect of creating a new horizon for the voices of rural India appeals to you, please be sure to donate a reasonable amount to our cause.Will this investment amount to anything?
Yes!! It pertains to something above the level of an individual. It signifies how small deeds of kindness in unison can amount to mammoth acts. So, we request you to do your bit. No contribution is too small.
