Urgent: The only way to save this child from the clutch of death is through multiple complex surgeries
Although in the midst of hardships, life was still a blessing for Joni Kumar and Sarita, when they would look at the happy faces of their three beautiful children. Until their eldest daughter, then 3 years old, suddenly fell ill - she ran a fever and had vomiting spells that lasted for a few days.
“We thought it was just a normal fever. We went to a doctor in our village and she was prescribed some medicines. She was fine after that... But then, some days later, I felt a lump in her tummy when I carried her to sit her on my lap.” – Joni, father

It turned out that her troubles were caused by a painful cyst
The worried parents did not waste any time, and sought a doctor again. But this time, the medicine the doctor prescribed didn’t work and the child was adviced to undergo more tests. However, due to unavailability of modern equipment, the parents had to get the tests done again at a hospital in Saharanpur, where the doctor suspected a cancerous cyst.
“We had no idea what was going on. We were suggested to carry out the treatment in Rishikesh. There, the doctor ran through all the tests again. The cyst was there, but the doctor ruled out cancer. Surgery was the only option, the doctor gave us. It was tough, but our prayers were at least answered.” - Joni

But the moment of relief was very short-lived
After putting together all the savings they had and the money they had arranged by taking loans from relatives, these parents arranged for their daughter’s surgery within the time that the doctors had alloted. They had high hopes that this is all their daughter would need, only to soon learn that the surgery could not relieve her of her condition and the cyst remained.
“We did put our everything - whatever we had into this surgery - hoping that our daughter will be fine again. But it broke my heart when the doctor declared the cyst was still there after the MRI scan. Now we don’t have any money left. How we will get our daughter treated?” - Sarita

Now she has an enlarged liver, which is slowly claiming her life
As if their suffering has no end, Since May, this year, the 5-year-old's cyst grew progressive and her liver is enlarged to such an extent, that her whole abdominal area has swelled up to the size of a watermelon. And more so, because of this, the child’s food intake has reduced drastically. She passes stool just once a week, and urinates once in 2 days.
The only way to save this child from the clutch of death is through multiple complex surgeries which will cost around 15 lakhs. She needs to undergo this treatment plan immediately, but at present due to her family's financial situation and the lack of funds, the little girl is at home without any treatment.

“I don’t know what to do now. After the first surgery, I lost all my money. How can I borrow more loans, when I have not repayed my previous one. I am just a daily-wage labourer at a farm, earning only 250 rupees every day. My father also cannot help me properly because of his ill-health. Now I have to take care of my parents, my kids, and my wife. I still don’t want to give up on my daughter and want to see her going back to school. Please help me save my daughter.” - Joni, with tears in his eyes
