I love to dance more than anything! When I hear music, I feel free and happy. I spin and twirl, and I can forget about everything around me. But now, I’m feeling really scared. I found out that I have blood cancer, and it makes me worry that it could take away my life.
Every day is a tough fight. My parents are trying so hard to help me. My dad is an ex-army man. He spent his life serving our country and protecting others. Now, he works as a security guard to help pay for my treatment. I’m proud of him, but it also makes me sad to see him so worried.
My mom is a nurse, and she has always dedicated her life to saving other people. I look up to her because she cares for people and helps them when they are sick. But now, I can see that she is scared too. She is doing everything she can to make me better, but it’s hard for her.
I really want to make things easier for them. They have always been my heroes, and now they are struggling to save me, their only child. I just want to go back to school, dance, and dream about being a teacher someday.
