“You’re going to have twins” - Ghanashyam and Chetana couldn’t believe what they heard! Finally, they were going to be parents. They had always wanted to be parents - hold a little baby in their arms, and now they got to know they would have two babies.
Their twin babies were preterm and need to stay in the NICU for much longer. But Ghanashyam doesn’t know if he can afford the treatment.

“We were overjoyed, our prayers were answered, our dreams were finally coming true. But the last week...it felt as if our dreams were shattered. The babies were born but we couldn’t hold them. They were immediately rushed into the ICU. The poor babies couldn’t even breathe on their own,” - Ghanashyam, father.

The hospital called Ghanashyam at 3 in the night. They asked him to come immediately, Chetana’s water had broken - the babies needed to be delivered then.
“All the way to the hospital I kept fearing that I would either lose Chetana or our babies. The babies were born but they weren’t healthy. My happiness immediately turned into worry.”
The babies are breathing with mechanical support, their lungs are underdeveloped. They also have a severe blood infection in their body.
Chetana can’t come to the hospital, the young mother can’t even hold her babies
Chetana is not well - her stitches haven’t healed, there’s regular bleeding. She can’t even stand for more than 10 minutes. But even amidst all this pain, all she cares about is her babies. She comes to the hospital every rarely and every time she looks at the twins, she breaks into tears.
“How much longer? I ask my husband, I ask the doctors - but no one seems to know. I feel so helpless, I don’t know how we can save our babies,” - Chetana, mother.
