Her baby needs surgery to surviveShireesha had a full-term delivery and everything seemed had seemed normal. Nothing had hinted that her newborn baby would suffer from such a severe condition. He was diagnosed with congenital pulmonary airway malformation (CPAM), a mass of abnormal fetal lung tissue that forms during pregnancy. In this little baby’s case, a lesion has been found in the lungs, that has solidified and is filled with fluid. This condition can only be treated with surgery.
“If this was not enough, my child also contracted pneumonia and now his surgery is further delayed. It can only happen when he recovers from pneumonia which is taking forever. He is just a little baby, why doees he have to suffer like this?” - Shireesha
He is recovering but his parents are failing to continue his treatmentCurrently, the baby is on a ventilator, undergoing treatment for pneumonia. He is showing sure signs of improvement. But he needs to stay in the NICU for at least one more week to recover, after which he will undergi surgery and would need 3 weeks of post-operative care, as well. Although the baby has a very high chance of winning this battle, his parents are failing to meet the expenses of his treatment.
“We were supposed to be happy and not frightened at our baby’s birth. It was so unexpected. But as soon as his condition was diagnosed, I put everything I had on the line to save my son. But it is not enough. I am unable to continue any further.” - Venkateshwarlu, father

“If we can’t afford this treatment, all the progress, all our efforts will go in vain. My child's suffering would be for nothing and I don’t want that. I want my baby to get better, so I can take him home with us. I want to watch him grow and call me ‘papa’. Please help me save my son! You are my only hope.” - Venkateshwarlu
