Hello Everyone,
I am trying to raise funds, approximately Rs 10 Lakhs for my brother-in-law (sister's husband) who needs a heart transplant to survive. Below is our plight.
We grew up in Bandiharalapur in Koppal district, Karnataka. My father is a farmer and worked hard on a leased land to bring us up. I studied and moved to Bengaluru while my sister continued to live in Koppal. She got married to a farmer in Koppal and they had two kids.
My brother-in-law S Nagaraj worked in the farms and led a decent life until one day when he started to gasp for breath on the fields. He was rushed to a local hospital and the doctors who treated on him said that he had to go through a by-pass surgery. This was four years ago.
Ever since then, my brother-in-law’s health condition has been on the edge. He has had two by-pass surgeries and stents have been inserted. But things have only gotten worse with each passing day.
‘He has been diagnosed with Native DVD with instent restenosis of LAD & Patent grafts, Reduced Biventricular Function, LV Apical Thrombus present for which he needs to undergo a heart transplantation at the earliest. Narayana Hrudayalaya have offered to conduct the surgery at a cost of Rs 10 Lakhs’
My brother-in-law has relocated from Koppal and is staying at a 1 bedroom house close to Narayana Hrudayala. This is because the doctors have said that in case, we manage to arrange the money and in case there is a possibility of a donor, then he needs to reach the hospital in less than an hour after informing him. He has relocated with a lot of hopes, but we are unsure how we would be able to raise that kind of money.
My brother-in-law never had a drink nor lit a cigarette all his life. He ate healthy and worked hard in the fields. Sometimes I wonder why he is going through such health issues in life.
My brother-in-law is the only bread winner for his family which includes not just his wife and kids but his aged parents and one brother who is physically challenged. He has spent all his savings and earnings on his heart surgeries over the last four years. My parents, friends and relatives and I have done our bit to help him, but we are falling short by a huge margin for the heart transplant as we have already spent our earnings on his earlier surgeries. In fact we have even borrowed money from money lenders on interest.
I plead for your help in our difficult times. Any contribution, small or big will help us save his life. If and when the heart transplant is successful, my brother-in-law has will return to the fields and work as a farmer once again, because he knows nothing apart from farming to earn a living. So I request you to consider this request as a help to a person and especially a farmer. If you are unable to contribute, I request you to at least keep him in your prayers. Your wishes can make a difference in his life.
