About a month back, 9 year old Krishil started feeling dizzy and couldn't stand anymore. After a few tests, he was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease known as Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). GBS is extremely rare, occurring in about 1 in a lakh, and caused by the immune system damaging the peripheral nervous system.

As Krishil had severely damaged nerve cells, the treatment was started immediately; however, the disease had already spread. His lungs, spine, and entire body below the neck were affected. This led to a certain numbness in the throat, and thus, a hole was made in his throat in order to facilitate the intake of liquid food. In addition, he had breathing difficulties and was placed on a ventilator for 30 days.

It's been a month since he laughed or even smiled. He lies in the ICU motionless. The worried parents haven't left the child and spent sleepless nights in the hospital waiting room. They are eagerly waiting to take Krishil home with them.

Without proper care, his entire nervous system will be paralyzed. Even though his father has already spent everything he had (about Rs. 6 lacs), there is still a handsome amount of money required for Krishil to survive.
