Arappor appeals for saving lives of patients! Arappor appeals to you to contribute generously for transplantation of Kidney for Hepatitis C patients . Arappor has been fighting for the Justice and treatment of these 18 patients who acquired the infection due to the negligence of the Stanley Government Hospital.  All of them come from a poor background and the interim compensation of Rs 5 lakhs that they got were spent on repaying part of their loans. So far, 7 of these patients have passed away and out of the rest 11, only 1 have got successfully transplanted. The rest 10 are still undergoing treatment. However, all of them fear continuing transplantation at the Government hospital as 3 out of the 4 patients who underwent transplantation died immediately. The poor quality of the Government Hospitals is taking a huge toll on these families. Therefore the patients wish to undergo transplantation in better quality private hospitals.  Social-minded doctors are willing to perform the transplant by forgoing their fees and a private hospital is providing facilities at a concessional rate. Yet, the total cost of transplantation plus other costs for each patient works out to be around Rs 5,00,000 (Rs 4,50,000 for transplant + Rs 50000 for other costs). We need to do transplantation for 10 people. Initially, transplantation is going to happen for 2 patients this month therefore we need to raise Rs 10,00,000 urgently.
