We are a team of Teach For India fellows teaching at low income private and government schools of Hyderabad. As Fellows, we teach kids on a regular basis and simultaneously address the pressing problems in the school and community through various projects.
Majority of our kids are from an underprivileged background and face social problems like alcoholism, domestic violence and discrimination on a daily basis. Through Halla Bol, an Inter-School Parliamentary Debate Tournament for Teach For India Children, we aim to empower our children to voice out their opinions, think critically and raise their voices solve problems. This is one step further in making them leaders of our country.
The skill of debating has been consistently emphasised and practiced by teachers across the world and we believe in building a platform for our kids to harness this skill. Further, its insanely amazing and necessary to expose our kids to this skill keeping in mind their backgrounds and the life-choices they have to make everyday.
