What's the situation?

Bhim region is the block headquarters under Rajasamand district in Rajasthan. This region has high migration with youth migrating to nearby states like Gujarat, Delhi.

Many youths from this region have a natural inclination towards the hospitality business.
Unfortunately, most of the youth have low educational qualifications and come from poor financial background. They are not aware of various market opportunities and do not have the means to avail them.

What's our solution?

Tata Trusts, a Mumbai-based philanthropic organization along with GSVS, a Rajasthan based non-profit are addressing the problem of migration by providing high-quality training opportunities to the youth linked to employment.

GSVS is mobilizing youth from poor communities of migrant families and providing them counseling facility free of cost. GSVS then links interested youth to good training opportunities in various sectors depending upon the interest levels of the youth.

For youth interested in hospitality, the Trusts and GSVS have tied up with Taj Tata Strive Hospitality Skill Center. A high quality training center in Jaipur, it provides training in Multi Cuisine Cook, Food and Beverage and Housekeeping Operations.

The course are 13 weeks long plus a 4 week on the job training in Jai Mahal Palace, Jaipur. The courses are tailored to meet industry standards as prescribed by sector skill council. They are 100 % Hands on practical on real time industrial applications. Emphasis on skilling for the future with focus on building self-esteem, self-confidence in youth and empowering them through communication skills, decision making skills and workplace skills. Candidates get a widely recognized certificate awarded after completion of course

What impact will the program have?

We are looking to send 5 youth from Bhim Block to Tata Strive Center in Jaipur.
In the short term, participants will have developed in-demand skills with which to earn an income

In the medium to long term, participants will be able to lead a better quality of life owing to their improved skills, behavior and experiences.

Fund utilisation.

With the support of Milaap, we are trying to crowd fund the cost of providing them food & accommodation for 3 months of training. The costs of the core training are being borne by Tata Strive.
For each individual, the cost of food & accommodation comes to 5,000 Rs./month. Thus, for a 3 month period, it comes out to 15,000 Rs./candidate. For 3 candidates, the costs work out to 45,000 Rs.
That means our grant total crowdfunding target is 45,000 Rs.
Can you help us reach it?
