We are Maharaja, Shivaranjani and Dravina, year 1 fellows with Teach For India. We are teaching 290 plus students of grade 7 in Government higher secondary school, Saidapet. We are overwhelmed to say about the experiences we have had teaching these energetic children for the past 6 months. We have never experienced such multitude of emotions over a small period of time. The reason is simply due to the actions of these kids we have witnessed on each passing day. Unfortunately, we have realized that the amount of exposure and opportunities these kids have are not even comparable to that of their private school counterparts. This is deeply disturbing as we feel that the potential available in this classroom can be tapped for greater things yet alarmingly it has a great chance of going unnoticed.

We have never seen a diverse bunch of multi talented kids whose potential awaits to be unleashed. We take immense pleasure, responsibility and joy for having such a great opportunity to be with these amazing students and observe their simple lives and see and share their joys with them as a friend. 

We want to bring about positive change in the lives of these kids both as a teacher and as an inspirational friend. 

We plan to initiate and sustain some activities for these kids in the current academic year as we strongly believe that where they come from should never decide where they go. We have a strong conviction that education is the key lever to empower them to achieve their goals.
