Story

Hello everyone, I am Dhriti Gupta currently studying in class XI in Bal Bharati Public School. I feel fortunate to be a part of Harami Pahchan which provide students a chance to learn the correct way to help others.

I chose the Malnutrition because from last 1 and half year due to the covid 19 pandemic many dependent on daily wages and many lost their jobs and were unable to feed themselves. I feel, no one should die due to starvation. Malnutrition is the one of the most important cause in India. Malnutrition is caused by eating a diet in which nutrients are not enough or is too much such that it causes health problems. It occurs when the body does not get enough food. It can lead to delayed growth, low weight, or wasting. This causes damage to the vital organs and functions of the body. Lack of food is the most cause of malnutrition in the poorer and developing countries. Food is one of the basic needs for survival and every citizen has a right to it. Food comes from the nature and anyone can have it but no, it’s not that easy. People suffer from malnutrition due to lack of accessibility to resources. Not every person has enough money to buy food. As a result, the people do not have access to proper meals and suffer from malnutrition.

India is home to 46.6 million stunted children, a third of the world's total as per Global Nutrition Report 2018. Nearly half of all under-5 child mortality in India is attributable to undernutrition. This might seem like it's none of your concern because you have been well fed your whole life. But if you really care, you can make this world a better place to live in, where no one dies of malnutrition. I request you all to feed someone daily because you know in every day, there are 1,440 minutes. That means we have 1,440 daily opportunities to make a positive impact, so that when we think in the night about what was the best moment of the day then you will have one.
I wanted myself to donate as many things as I can. Fundraising through NGOs is a great way too. Hamari pahchan NGO also takes up such projects and you can learn more about them and if you want to hep someone you can also contact Hamari Pahchan. And one most important thing try not to give money to poor people because it can be misused. During the lockdown many people were trying new recipes so by making it in a little large quantity and giving it to poor people or when the dish you try didn’t taste good then also you can give it to poor people.
