When you think of animal rescue in Bangalore, the one name that instantly comes to mind is Girish sir. Any animal rescue enthusiast will almost inevitably redirect you to Girish sir and his shelter - Animal Rights Fund, located in Kengeri, Bengaluru. Even during pandemic era, Girish sir & his wonderful team have been rescuing dogs day and night without any compromise. His team has been rescuing at least 2 to 5 dogs on a daily basis.
His shelter alone has close to 300 beautiful canine residents, who are either abandoned, critically injured, paralyzed or suffering from Parvo, CD, etc. Due to pandemic, many people were unable to contribute as before. The number of dogs has grown from 200 to 300 in past few months and the expenses have grown along with it.

Many of these cuties are old/abandoned by owners, diseased , attacked or disabled in some way. Many of them need constant care and medication due to age or the diseases they have. Some dogs need special food for Creatine and liver issues.

Following is the average per day expense for food,
- Needs 50 kgs of rice it's almost 1300/-
- dry food which is 3000/-
- milk and curds 900
- bread and biscuits 2100.

The amount specified here is our estimate for next 10 months since the amount keeps increasing every month.
