We are ROL-Rhapsody Out Loud and we are band of musicians from the small town of Mangalore, based in Mumbai. Where we come from, although Kannada is the state language, Tulu is the local language that is loved and spoken by all! Mangaloreans settled all over the world still speak this language and believe it is their identity. We as musicians want to use our music to bind Mangaloreans all around the world with a Tulu folk song which is known and loved by all, for generations now!
The fundraiser is for the production of a Tulu song that includes the most nostalgic memories and qualities of Mangalore and Tulu as a language.
When do we need these funds?
We need the funds by the 15th of April as we want to release the song in April.
How do we plan on using it?
This song is more than just entertainment, it is an emotion. We have recorded the audio. Having invested a lot of our personal income in the making, we realized this iconic video will not see the light of day because we don’t have enough money to comuyplete it.
We as a band have a huge following on social media for the work that we have done and hence, if and when we get the necessary funds, we will use it to complete the song, share it on all platforms and encourage people to share the song with the intention of showing our pride in Tulu culture to the rest of the world.
