Help Cibi To Publish Illustrated Books On The History Of Ancient India

Greetings. As you all know, there are hundreds of books on the history of Rome, Egypt, Babylon, China which are spectacularly illustrated. There isn't one book that represents the history of our homeland India, in particular the Mauriyan timeline - the India which Megesthenes saw, the India that Chanakya and Ptolemy wrote about, the India that Greeks saw and Alexander wished to conquer.

We have planned take up this project and complete it within 2020. It is an undertaking as expansive as the history of India herself. We cannot do it without your help. In order to engage the future generations of India and grab their interest young, we need to have illustrations that are comparable or surpassing the best books out there. There are numerous excellent illustrators world-wide and I am in the process of engaging with them. We don't want to compromise on the quality but, it does come at a cost.

In addition to requesting for generous donations, we are also actively seeking suggestions for a suitable title for the book and areas of ancient history that must be represented.

Our target is to complete it by the year 2020 and dedicate it to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Sir's vision 2020. His birthday is what we are aiming for in all earnest. We also have our next vision planned and are super excited about it - a series of Children's books which expand on the foundation laid in this book. We will have our hands busy till 2030.  We will flood the market with authentic history aided by kid-friendly colourful pictures and digital art. If you share our vision, please donate for our cause generously. Let's own our history. Jai Hind !

Dear Donar,

Each Page of the illustration will cost INR 18,000.

This INR 20,000 is given as an advance to the entire project and also to complete 1 page that would contain 12 - 16 images of hairdo, hairdressers, coiffure of ancient Indians both male and female of the period from 600 BCE - 600 CE.

This is to be given to the artist Mr Muneeswaran whom I have told in the previous update. He can be contacted at +91 80127 04512.

Thus a total of INR 3000 + INR  20,000 = INR 23,000 is paid an initial payment to him. Page 1 = INR 18,000, the remaining INR 5000 will be as the fund for next page and so on.

Best regards,
Cibi

Dear Donor,

I just made the first spending today ! I was in need of few research books to complete the first chapter I am working on - The Fashion in ancient India. So I spent time in looking at the catalog of few libraries, Since I could not find, I thought to purchase it as the price is not too heavy. These books are essential for the draft work I am making. They are :

1. Material culture of Deccan - B. S. - INR 1500
2. Material culture of Sanchi - K Krishna Murthy - INR 700
3. Amulets And Pendants In Ancient Maharashtra (3Rd C. Bc To 3Rd C. Ce) - Jyotsna Maurya-  INR 218
4. Fortified Cities of Ancient India Paperback - Dieter Schlingloff -  INR 261
5. Dress and ornaments in ancient India Hardcover - Indu Prabha Pandey - INR 600
total :  INR 3279

I am buying this in India to reduce the price. My cousin in India will send me the scanned copies of these books for a lesser cost. I still need more books but all of them cost some thing like this. Drafts / pictures are to be taken from these books, and selected line drawings are used for the book.

The artist is finalized,- Mr. S. Muneeswaran from Madurai- a professional artist, I have obtained few samples from him for the work that to be done for our book. His pencil drawings are attached here. That hair style is going to be in the book in a brightly coloured version ! Each page of this chapter might cost 15,000 - 18,000 and it might contain 5 - 6 pages. Right now I am paying an advance of INR 3000 through this withdrawal. The artist doesnt have a PAN card yet and Milaap allows transactions only with a PAN Number. So for this transaction alone I am paying it through my cousin. The rest of the transaction will happen only wiith MIlaap directly.

Total : 3279 + 3000 = INR 6279

This will be utilised in buying other books for the same chapter and its scanning cost.
The invoices of all this will be uploaded once i get it from my cousin. I will post them in another update.

The actual illustration works begins on Vijayadasami day on October 19th !. Thank you.
