Story

The Project
Hello everybody, my name is Naveen, I'm from India and I'm planning to visit Europe for 3 months. My project in Europe is to share my profound knowledge in traditional Tribal food and Permaculture. I plan during my travel in Europe to do some cooking classes and voluntering in farms to give permaculture workshops. I would like to teach you how to use indigenous plants, spices and other natural resources to create authentic and inspired dishes. I would like to bring the ancestor knowledge all around the world. Because I think, we have forgotten about real food, I feel this mission deeply inside me. I hope that you will like my project and give me the possibility to realise my dream. Sharing this old traditions are the most important thing of my life.

Who Am I
I left my family when I was 14 years old, and since this time I've been on the roads of my country, travelling, meeting people from everywhere in the world; being close to the nature and specially the food, became the centre of my life. I've been cooking since then, at the beginning I learn from indigenous people, who knew how to choose and cook fresh food, later I became a chef. I started in 2000 in a restaurant in Goa,where I learned the taste of Spanish, Italian and French food, after that I felt the need to learn more about ancestor food so I went back to travel across India, in rural areas. Later on I worked in some festivals like the Matheran green festival 2015, and I cooked for different evens, and official groups.

About Permaculture

It brings such joy to witness the Permaculture movement becoming more and more popular, with new projects emerging all over the globe. Many, including myself, got to know this science from the desire to find a way to return to a natural and holistic lifestyle, integrating self-sustaining organic food production and natural building – which of course makes sense as Permaculture is, in essence, a design science supporting us to live and interact with nature and our communities in harmonious and lasting ways. However, through my personal journey to embody a sustainable lifestyle, the teachings of Permaculture have been the gateway unlocking a profound transformational journey. One of the discoveries I have made on that journey is that a truly sustainable relationship with the world has a lot more to do with being rather than doing. Permaculture offer powerful and practical principles, tools, and design that I want to share so we all take responsibility for our lives and our relationship with the Earth.
