Greetings!

We started Ananda Sagara in June 2014, when we started we were just a children's home. We were on the verge of closure around Oct 2017, by God's we started a campaign through Milaap, Nov 2017. And we thank God for all of you, who supported us, to raise funds to survive. The funds raised through Milaap helped us not only to survive but also encouraged us to do much more to the community. With funds raised, we were able to start a free bridge school and a free pre-school for children of migrant workers.

Now we are in July 2021, second year into the pandemic and the problems faced by children of migrant workers is only increasing. We want to reach more children of migrant workers and prepare them for main stream schools.
Hence this new campaign to "Help Bridge School for children of migrant workers"

Ananda Sagara's Bridge school helps children who have never attended school and/or who do not have the necessary literacy skills to attend a mainstream school. We bridge this knowledge and skills gap between their age and education. The goal for us is that eventually, all these children are part of mainstream education.

Problem
Due to the nature of migrant worker's jobs, the children move with their parents' city to city, neighborhood to neighborhood. So, most of the children never attend a school or they usually drop out of school. Most of these children can not read or write. Our bridge school addresses these problems at our community level, making them literate and bridging the gap between their age and education.

Background
Ananda Sagara started as a children's home 7 years ago. Since most of the residents were children of migrant workers and lacked foundation in their education. We started home schooling our children to fill the gap between their academic skills and their age 3 years ago.
When we started homeschooling our resident kids, we didn't realize that God had bigger and better plans.

As the word spread that we were homeschooling our kids, more and more migrant workers started approaching us to include their children in our "school". Their reasons:- "My children don't like school", "We just moved to this city, we heard you run a school", "My child does not know to read and write and we don't know what to do", "My child is very naughty and doesn't listen to us", "We don't know what to do with my child"......

So we started growing and growing and this year (Jan to March 2021) around 50 children attend our informal bridge school before the Lockdown.
Now we want to restart our bridge school again and open up the gates to our community - children of migrant workers.
Following is Republic Day celebration on Jan 26th 2021.
