My name is Jagdish Singh Bhiwani. I am an Indian boxer and boxing coach from Bhiwani district,Haryana. I started and run the Bhiwani Boxing Club (BBC) in 2001, which produced four members of the five member boxing team in the Beijing Olympics 2008, including the bronze medal winner, Vijender Singh.
For the last few years I have been training two girls at my center. Pooja, 19, is a national boxing champion from Haridwar. Her mother and father are daily wage labourers and can just about make ends meet. " I have no house and no land. We live day to day," says the national boxer, who approached me for training after a friend introduced her to me. She has been boxing for 4 years and has participated in many competitions and tournaments including the International Boxing Championship that took place 8 days ago in Serbia.

Sonia hails from Diwan East Delhi and is currently in her first year of college, pursuing BA in Physical Education and History. "My village is filled with boxers. This is our passion. I want to make it my profession now", says the 19-year-old, who bagged a silver medal in the recent tournament in Serbia !

Despite their financial setbacks, the 2 girls have shown that nothing can stop them from reaching the top. This campaign is a chance for them to get the equipment that they deserve, starting from handwraps and boxing gloves to shoes. Till now, they have been using gloves and wraps that have been passed down. With your help, they will be able to practice, participate and perform with their own equipment in international tournaments.
