Why are we fundraising?

The WordsWorth Project is a social project based out of New Delhi, India, working with children from low income communities with the dual aim of teaching children to love reading, and improving literacy and comprehension. We do this by an organic volunteer driven model.

A combination of early childhood memories surrounded by books and reading, volunteering experiences and a belief that every child deserves equal opportunity was interwoven into our planning for the project.

The idea that tackling language competency would result in the largest gains in learning outcomes forms the backbone of the project. This is because language is the medium through which all subjects are taught and any improvement in the former will spill over.

The WordsWorth Project looks to create fun reading spaces for children stocked with levelled storybooks by indigenous publishers. With an understanding that our responsibility does not end there, we have volunteer intervention to help map individual child progress.

What do we plan to do with the funds?

Currently running on a non-profit model, all donations are utilised in our project to meet our expansion and operational plans.

The WordsWorth Project currently functions in 6 spaces in New Delhi, in collaboration with several NGOs and community centres.
