Childhood means simplicity. Look at the world with the child’s eye, it is very beautiful.
But when the world around the child is filled with instability of shelter, irregularity of food and lack of proper clothing, it becomes difficult even for the child to find it beautiful.
And every child deserves a chance to live in a beautiful world.
Our world is very beautiful but not fair. While a lot of us get enjoy finer things in life, there are children out there who struggle even for bare necessities. Children of slums in Bamanwada, live in adverse conditions. Tarpaulin houses where people still use gas stoves, no proper sanitation and bare minimum or most of the times no education.
The children however have a lot of potential and when we interacted with them we discovered that they ARE keen on education and would love to learn if given an opportunity. And that is exactly what we at Muskurahat do! Give them opportunities, support and smiles!
We see to restore their faith in life and show them it can be beautiful!
Muskurahat volunteers have been going to the slums every Sunday morning to take sessions with the children where they teach them morals, discipline, manners and give them the love that their life lacks. The plan is to slowly get them comfortable and do activities for their holistic development. Muskurahat has successfully implemented the AnganShiksha project in two other locations and has been creating positive impact in the lives of over 150 children.
Muskurahat collaborated with experts and devised a special curriculum for these children so as to help them grow as well rounded individuals. This curriculum comprises of teaching them every day social behaviours and manners, morals and basic education. The goal is to equip them with skills that they missed out on because of their upbringing. By teaching them community development oriented skills, the goal is to enrich their overall quality of life. By indulging in value-based
learning, Muskurahat wants to equip them with a tool set to make their living conditions brighter and better.
Like every new project, ours too faces a lot of challenges. The major obstacle being the poor infrastructure. After much struggle we managed to find a shed but the facility still lacks basic materials lie fans, cupboards and benches. New blackboards and charts would enhance their learning experience. The funding is also required for the enrichment, enhancement and further development of the curriculum so that it can be improved as and when constructive feedback is received. Training and facilitation of the volunteers and acquiring resources to conduct the sessions also require monetary resources. This is why Muskurahat needs your help to accomplish this cause.
So this is an appeal to the humanity in you, help us make their world a beautiful one?
Spread smiles with us.
