Mr Rajarajan R L from Vellore district of Tamil Nadu is a much-loved father and husband who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease at age of 56 years. He was a small scale businessman and managed to handle his family with his minimum income for years. But Parkinson’s Disease has limited his ability to work and made him permanently sit at home.
Parkinson’s Disease is considered as the second most common movement disorder which gradually progresses over the years. The condition is not curable, but the symptoms can be managed with the medication during the initial stages, and with surgery when medicines are no longer effective.
Mr Rajarajan has been suffering from Parkinson’s Disease for the past five years and has come to a point where medications are no longer effective on him. The only available treatment left is Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery and he has been approved as a candidate for DBS surgery by the neurologist.
DBS or Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery is a FDA approved advanced surgical technique where the electrical implants will be placed inside the brain under anaesthesia and stimulate it with IPG which will be placed in the anterior chest wall under GA. The surgery gives good result and supports the patient to manage the condition. The surgery will cost Rs. 10 Lakhs (10,00,000 INR).
Since the cost of the surgery is too costly for him, and his daughter is the only bread earner of the house, the family cannot afford the cost of the surgery. On behalf of the family, FrontEnders Foundation is taking the initiative to support him to raise the money for the surgery.
Due to the severity of his condition, surgery has to be done at the earliest. He needs your financial support and prayers. Your donations will help him to get his life back. Any donations towards this cause are highly appreciated. Your generous contributions will change the life of him and everyone around him. Thanks to you in advance.
