Baby Basavaraju, has has been diagonsed with Cancer. This fundraiser is to support the care for this little boy who was diagnosed with Rhabdomysarcoma of the urinary bladder. This is a genetic condition that affects the muscle tissues. He hails from a very poor socio-economic background. His parents are small-scale farmers and live in a remote village in Karnataka. 

Though his cancer care is supported under the government funding scheme of Karnataka, they are struggling with day to day costs of travel from their village for hospital visits/stays, expenses during such visits. In more than one instance we have been extremely worried about his safety due to significant delay in them seeking care even in the setting of neutropenic fever. 

We feel that it is imperative that they stay close to our center for the remainder of his treatment (approximately 6-8 months). This will prevent delays in his treatment. 

We believe his case is curable, albeit, we fear that he may die of a serious infection due to delay in seeking care. Please feel free to communicate with me for any questions.
