The unequal access to opportunities for learning and development is one of the core reasons for the social and economic divide in India. This division and the equity gap have become more alive and visible than ever in the current scenario of Covid - 19. Around 85% of our kids might face a loss of not only essential learning hours but also the access to co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for a longer period of time. This will only widen the equity gap further.

Camp Diaries is one such NGO that was started under Teach For India by Milind Chandwani during his fellowship in 2017. In the first year itself, the project expanded to 4 cities and impacted approximately 5000 kids in two years with the help of over 1000 volunteers. Registered as a trust (Creating Dreams Trust) in 2019, Camp Diaries now functions out of 9 cities across India and aims to impact over 3000 kids in the coming year. Camp Diaries primarily identifies and builds potential independent learners from underprivileged backgrounds(Government Schools) and enable these kids to pursue their passion by organizing 6-weekend camps and facilitating various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities such as Coding, Musical Instruments, Dance, etc. We also provide additional mentoring and professional support to some extraordinarily talented kids after 6 weekends.

Actress Avika Gor is a firm believer of equity and therefore envisions a country where all children are able to follow their passion and unleash their potential. She says, "There is a great amount of potential in many of the underprivileged children to do anything, but there isn't a path for them to reach great successes". With her aligned beliefs, she has been a great supporter of Camp Diaries and has once again come out to further our cause by celebrating her birthday in a unique way this year. Avika is choosing to not accept birthday presents, flowers, and parties. Instead, she is creating a platform for everyone to donate for the betterment of many underprivileged lives. Avika Gor will be matching all the donations made by you all to Camp Diaries. She is hereby making an appeal to her friends, well-wishers, and the whole kind world to make a donation to our organization as a token of love for her birthday present. By extending her support, she attempts to contribute to making the children of our country realize their dreams without any hindrances.

In order to redesign and start our operations under the current scenario, Camp Diaries requests you to participate in our efforts towards ensuring equity by supporting our cause through donations. These funds would be utilized solely for the purpose of supporting our operations and making learning resources (projectors, speakers, guitars, art kits, games kits, etc.) available to children and facilitators. We would highly appreciate your contribution in terms of funds; however, we are also attaching an Amazon Wishlist of resources that you can donate to help us organize these camps. The link is as follows:
