About Mahila Housing SEWA Trust
Mahila Housing SEWA Trust (MHT), established in 1994, is promoted by Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA). SEWA helps underprivileged Indian women secure their livelihoods. Most of these women work from home, and living conditions impact their success. So MHT works with government agencies to help these women access essentials, like water, sanitation, and electricity in their homes, improving their livelihoods and quality of life. Over the past decade, MHT has helped women in rural areas and urban slums of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Delhi. Milaap’s partnership with MHT helps underprivileged self-employed women from Delhi’s slums and bordering rural areas to install water connections in their homes.
